Justin and Madelyn photos

That's my boy! He's looking great, isn't he? He is working really hard on losing weight and getting in shape. He's in the police academy in Sulphur Springs and will graduate on February 20, 2009.

Madelyn loves her little dog, Klaus. (Yes, we named him after one of the best bosses I ever had, and it's a compliment... if anyone was wondering!) She carries him around like a rag doll, and he has no problem with it! He's such a good doggie!
***Update - Klaus was struck by a car on Thanksgiving weekend and was killed instantly. The saddest part is that Madelyn and Hollie saw it happen. Madelyn was distraught for a few days, and still talks about how much she misses Klaus.
The good news is she now has a new puppy - Nigel - (yes, he's named after Bywater). He's a pocket beagle and is a great little dog, too.

She begged for her hair to be curled before she went to school Tuesday.. She is such a cutie!

Labor Day Weekend

Well, folks the long Labor Day weekend has come to a close, and I am proud to say I got very little done. We had a very lazy weekend, watched the first 5 episodes of the HBO miniseries John Adams. What a wonderful documentary of the life of our 2nd President. He was a very passionate patriot, and his guidance was instrumental in the forming of our country. The producers did an excellent job of recreating the late 1700's and early 1800's, and Paul Giamatti does an amazing job in the title role. The makeup artists transformed David Morse into the father of our country - I told Jen he looked just like a dollar bill! Anyway, I encourage anyone who has not seen it to buy it, rent it or borrow it. It is well worth the time.
Madelyn is back home and ready to get back to school after her bout with whatever stomach bug has been floating around and caused her to miss two full days of the first week of school. She was a little resistant (okay, more than a little resistant) when 8:30 bed time rolled around, but is all tucked in and drifting towards dream land... with her little doggie Klaus beside her.
Have a wonderful week everyone...It's time for THE political convention - YIPPEE!! ttfn

Greetings!

OK, Rarah has inspired me. I'm going to take a crack at this Bloggy thingy...

It is the last day of August, and it's going to be sweltering! Gustav is on his way to New Orleans to test out the rebuilt levies, and then to bring some much needed rain to Texas. It's a lazy weekend at the Williams household, after 2 weeks of dog sitting Alli (means dog in Australian) and a couple nights with Blue. Murphy and Blue only had a couple of throwdowns, but we lost a wooden CD/DVD tower in the second one. It's odd to us that they fight because Murphy is such a docile old guy and gets along with most other dogs.

Madelyn is at her dad and Rarah's this weekend, and if last night's phone call is any indication, she's having a large time! Justin had a date last night, he said she's a horse trainer. When I asked what kind of horse training, he said all kinds, but mostly she saddle breaks them! He also mentioned something about the way she fills out a pair of Wranglers - I'm not sure what that means...

I spent a couple of days this past week in the thriving metropolis of San Angelo, assisting with interviews for a couple of supervisor openings. Every time I go to San Angelo, I am flooded with memories of Mom and the places she would go and the places she worked. I took a couple of folks to dinner at Western Sky. It looks exactly the same as it did in the 70's when she worked there - I'm not sure they've even painted... I told the waitress about her - probably a waste of her time, but I enjoy getting the chance to talk about Mom.

So, there it is, my first entry into the world of blogging... Hope you enjoy!
